The film humorously depicts a father and daughter struggling to keep their mother's smile, and carefully spins a tale of a family struggling to regenerate while holding on to their grief and regret. Directed and written by Katsumi Nojiri, who has worked as an assistant director on numerous films by Ryosuke Hashiguchi, Yuya Ishii, and Tatsushi Omori, this is his first feature film as a director. Ittoku Kishibe plays the father, Yukio, Hara Hideko the mother, Ryo Kase the eldest son, Koichi, and Asao Kiryu the eldest daughter, Tomimi, as well as Kayoko Kishimoto and Nao Omori. --The death of Koichi, the eldest son of the Suzuki family, came too suddenly. The father and eldest daughter tell a once-in-a-lifetime lie to their mother, who has lost her memory due to the shock. Koichi, who had been a recluse, had opened a door, left home, and ventured out into the world.

ある日突然、兄が死んだ。母にはまだ本当のことは言えないけれど。毎日映画コンクール脚本賞ほか数々の映画賞にて高い評価を得た野尻監督待望のデビュー作をBlu-ray化。母の笑顔を守るべく奮闘する父と娘の姿をユーモラスに描きつつ、悲しみと悔しみを抱えながら再生しようともがく家族の姿を丁寧に紡ぎ、数々の映画祭で主要部門を受賞した感動作。監督、脚本は橋口亮輔、石井裕也、大森立嗣などの数多くの作品で助監督を務め、本作が劇場映画初監督作となる野尻克己。父・幸男役を岸部一徳、母・悠子役を原日出子、長男・浩一役を加瀬亮、長女・富美役を木竜麻生がそれぞれ演じるほか、岸本加世子や大森南朋らが出演。――あまりにも突然に訪れた鈴木家の長男・浩一の死。ショックのあまり記憶を失った母のため、遺された父と長女は一世一代の嘘をつく。ひきこもりだった浩一は、扉を開けて家を離れ、世界に飛び出したのだと―。
