A historical spectacle and full-scale survival thriller unfolds in Japan on the eve of national isolation, where mysterious creatures known as "Gun-kyou" run rampant. 35 years after the Battle of Sekigahara, just as Japan is finally beginning to regain peace, man-eating monsters called "Gun-kyou" suddenly appear. The shogunate secretly dispatches extermination units, burning down the Gun-kyou and the affected areas to conceal the incidents. Unaware of the turmoil, in Tago-juku, Orin (Fumino Kimura), who hides her past as a shinobi, lives peacefully as an assistant to the doctor Genzaburo (Katsumi Takahashi) together with her non-biological daughter Toki (Sora Tamaki). One day, Orin travels to a distant village to obtain medicine to cure Toki's illness, but upon arrival she is attacked by Gun-kyou whose appearances have become terrifyingly altered. At that moment, Orin vividly recalls the bitter memories of her past. Thus begins a desperate journey to protect her precious daughter Toki. Meanwhile, Shiro (Juri Tanaka), a man who has become a Gun-kyou while retaining human consciousness and suffering without memories of his past, is a "half Gun-kyou." Shunned and imprisoned, he searches for a certain person in order to learn who he truly is... This set includes all 6 episodes.
