Plot: Kankuro Haruhara is a research officer at the Japan Meteorological Agency's Meteorological Research Institute. He is a member of the SDM (Special Disaster Management Headquarters), an organization established directly by the Cabinet Office to prevent the spread of human casualties due to delays in response to the recent spate of natural disasters. Haruhara, the leader (chief) of the team, is a meteorological genius who is able to consider a vast amount of weather information from multiple perspectives based on his own intellect and firsthand experience of the weather in the field, and has the ability to read ahead of time even in tense situations where human lives are at stake. On the other hand, he is often antagonized by those around him because of his foul-mouthed personality. However, Haruhara's passion for saving lives and his straightforward attitude eventually change the way his peers look at him, and together with those who share his passion, they create the one and only strongest SDM team.
