シリーズ累計発行部数470万部突破の青春SFコミック『orange』待望のアニメーション映画化!! 原作者・高野苺描き下ろしによる新作エピソードにTVアニメ名シーンを重ねて紡ぐ"まだ誰も見たことのない『orange』"。 26歳の春――。須和弘人は、高校の同級生の茅野貴子、萩田朔、村坂あずさ、卒業後に結婚した高宮菜穂、そして、二人の間に生まれた子供と共に、桜の舞う弘法山を訪れた。彼らはそこから沈みゆく夕日を眺めながら、10年前に亡くなった成瀬翔のことを考えていた。成瀬翔は高校二年生の始業式の日に、東京から松本市に引っ越してきた転校生。すぐに翔と親しくなった須和は、彼と菜穂が互いに思いを寄せ合っていることを知るが、それに気付かないフリをしてしまっていた。そして、17歳の冬に突然、翔は全てを置いて亡くなってしまう。10年後、翔の死が自殺だったことを知り、須和の後悔は募る。「自分は、翔から、未来も菜穂も奪ったズルいやつだ」。もしも、あの頃の自分が今の気持ちを知っていたら・・・須和は奇跡を信じ、過去の自分へと手紙を送る。そこに綴ったのは、これから起こる出来事と、26歳の彼が抱える後悔と本心。そして、16歳の自分へ向けたあるメッセージだった。その思いを受け取った16歳の須和。手紙の言葉に後押しされ、彼が最後にした選択が、"まだ誰も見たことのない新しい未来"を作り出していく。菜穂と翔がこれから描く未来とは? それを見守る須和の想いとは――。
