Her aunt O-ring (Mitsuko Mori), who runs a bar in front of the station, has long been courting Shizuo Mizuguchi (Keiji Sada), a photographer and regular at the bar, for Ichiko to use as a model. O-ring asks Masae (Heiko Chino), the daughter of the next-door neighbor who is helping out at "New Moon", to persuade Ichiko. [松竹 新三羽鳥傑作集～佐田啓二 ベストセレクション～] 舟橋聖一の同名の連載小説の映画化。主人公の少女には松竹の公募で選ばれた真理明美を起用。島いち子(真理明美)は苦しい家計を助けたいと父・源四郎(笠智衆)に内緒で高校を中退してしまう。駅前で飲み屋を開いている叔母・お鈴(森光子)は、店の常連でカメラマンの水口志津夫(佐田啓二)に以前から、いち子をモデルにと口説かれていた。お鈴は隣家の娘で「新月」に手伝いに来ているまさ枝(千之赫子)にいち子を説得してくれるよう頼む。まさ枝は、映画でみたマリリン・モンローの顔にいち子の面影を見た。二人は、水着姿を条件に水口のモデルになるのだった・・・。
