As a game, I have much more impressive moments with DQ3 than 4. However, as a symphonic suite, I found that DQ4's is an improvement over DQ3 - and quite a significant shift at that. DQ4 symphonic ties with DQ5's and DQ6's in this regard, in my opinion. DQ4 probably has strongest characters' back story in the series (though not much). And it comes into play when you listen to a great song like "Comrades" - a medley of all characters' theme songs, where, if you played the game it can improve your enjoyment, your moments with each character will popup in your head. "Menuet" (castle theme) is great, very good classical feeling. "In a Town" grants relaxing and fun, and "Homeland..." yet another great overworld theme. Out of all sea songs, only those from DQ3,4,6 are in the top tier, I think. Finally, the Zinitian theme "Unknown Castle" has something special, that will make you come back listen to it over & over. After DQ4, the Zenitian theme is changed to a new "Heaven" theme (which is equally beautiful). To me, this is the best edition of DQ4 symphonic, highest recommended.
