Description

Boxed set containing "G Gundam" volumes 1 through 4. Directed by Yasuhiro Imagawa ("Giant Robo: The Animated Series"), the 15th anniversary Gundam show premiered in 1994. It was quite a departure from the previous Gundam series with a drastically different future in which each country (space colony) builds its own Gundam and send it to Earth to fight at a tournament that takes place every four years to determine which coutry will rule the world for the next four years. The premise is similar to Stuart Gordon's "Robot Jox" that came a few years earlier, but with more intricate plot developments, featuring wider variations in robot designs than any of the earlier series. I actually believe the world would be a nicer place if we apply the "G Gundam law" to our world. Come to think of it, we should make our world leaders fight one another (in place of robots) in Thuderdome-Sumo style matches. Much better than allowing them to develop bigger weapons which is nothing more than a manifestation of their macho Freudian complex about not liking the other guy having a bigger wee-wee. Anybody remember the controversial Godley and Creme directed music video for Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Two Tribes"? (which shows a great "cockfight" between Reagan and Chernenko look-alikes?) I thought it was the "healthiest" image of politicians at work that I've ever seem. It's just my opinion... which does not represent the views of this website.
