Singer-songwriter Sora Izumikawa is an acquired taste. Her vocals aren't particularly well-trained (she is, afterall, an indie singer) but there's something addictive about them. Especially when you couple that with her flawless ability to write a good pop song. The title track to 'Ukare Beat' is an energetic radio-friendly tune, as is the chirpy 'Denshi Range Magic' - while 'Utakata no Ame' is slow and mournful. Due to the limited number of tracks and eccentricity of the artist, this album is a bit of a wildcard. Given time though, it proves as infectious as any other well-established pop artist.
