In 2026, the year marking the 55th anniversary of the formation of the legendary band Queen and the 80th anniversary of Freddie Mercury's birth, Sony Music has acquired Queen's entire catalogue, which continues to be loved across generations. The first commemorative domestic release from Sony is a historic live work that brings one of Queen's finest performances from the final years of the Freddie Mercury era back to life with the latest technology. On July 27, 1986, near the end of the Magic Tour, the final tour held during Freddie Mercury's lifetime, Queen performed the 21st of the tour's 26 shows in Budapest, Hungary. One of the most important titles in the band's career, it is highly regarded both for its historical significance and for the quality of the film itself. It was released on VHS and LD in 1987, on DVD for the first time in 2012, and on Blu-ray for the first time in 2013 as "Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live in Budapest 1986." Thirteen years after its first Blu-ray release, it has now been remastered in 4K for the first time, with the audio also presented in an ultimate new remaster.
