coldrain's first album since transferring to Century Media Records! As vocalist Masato explains, this work explores the core question of whether "humanity will continue to evolve by using technological progress as a tool, or whether it will pursue optimization to the extreme, lose its humanity, and ultimately bring about its own demise." This album is the sequel to the band's digital EP "OPTIMIZE," released on October 25, 2025. Mastered by Mike Kalajian, "OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE" delivers, across 12 songs, an exquisite balance of heavy and aggressive vocals, stadium-class melodies, and the high-energy intensity that Japanese rock bands are proud of. Also, the song "POISON" features Bert McCracken of The Used, making it an attractive collaboration for fans of the loud rock scene. On this work, this Japanese five-piece further reinforces the strengths it has proven and honed over nearly 20 years since the band's formation. Fusing explosive energy and arena-class songwriting with a striking international edge, this work not only reaffirms coldrain's identity but lifts it to a new dimension.
