ジミ・ヘンドリックスが非業の死を遂げる2か月前のライヴ音源がついに正式発売 ! 1942年11月27日に生まれ、1970年9月18日に非業の死をとげたジミ・ヘンドリックス。短いその活動期間に残した膨大な音源は、ヘンドリックス財団が設立されて以降、整理された形でリリースされるようになったが、それでもまだ未発表の音源がかなり眠っていると言われている。今回登場するのもこれまで正式には発表されてこなかったもの。1970年7月4日に行われた「アトランタ・ポップ・フェスティヴァル」における公演の模様を、2枚のCDにフル尺で収録した決定盤である。これまで一部がVHSやCDで出たことはあるが、完全版は今回が初めての登場となる。死の2か月前の壮絶なパフォーマンスの全貌がついに明らかに !
