サンズ・オブ・アポロのロン"バンブルフット"サール (G)とデレク・シェリニアン (Key)が、マイク・ポートノイのドリーム・シアター復帰による脱退を機に、サンズ・オブ・アポロの後継的バンドを新たに結成! バンド名はラテン語の諺"神が滅ぼそうとする者が最初に神を狂わせる" (Whom the Gods would destroy, they first make mad)に由来する。ヴォーカルのディノ・ジェルーシックは弱冠5歳にしてTVや舞台等のシンガーとして活躍し、10歳で参加した第1回「ジュニア・ユーロビジョン・ソング・コンテスト」で優勝するなど、その圧倒的な歌唱力で幼少の頃からプロ・キャリアを築いてきた本格派ロック・ヴォーカリスト。最近ではホワイトスネイクのキーボード兼バッキング・ヴォーカルを務め、2022年に発売したマイケル・ロメオの最新アルバムでは全曲のヴォーカルを担った。また、ベースのヤス・ノムラ (野村康貴)はLA在中のギタリスト/ベーシストで、近年はHYDEのツアー・ギタリストも務めるなどグローバルな活動を展開している要注目のミュージシャン。ドリーム・シアター、サンズ・オブ・アポロの系譜を受け継いだ新たなスーパー・バンドがここに誕生。
