一躍その名を世界に轟かせた大ヒット作にしてグラミー賞にもノミネートされた名盤2ndアルバム (87年)。 実に30年間メジャーで活躍、あのスティーヴ・ヴァイやカーク・ハメット (メタリカ)のギターの師匠であり、ソロ・ギタリストとして成功を収めてきたジョー・サトリアーニ。 今回、デビュー30周年を記念し、86年の1stアルバム『ノット・オブ・ディス・アース』から93年の5thアルバム『タイム・マシーン』まで、ジョーサトが世界に衝撃を与えた初期5作品が最新リマスター盤で復活。しかも日本盤の再発は『サーフィング・ウィズ・ジ・エイリアン (レガシー・エディション)』 (07年)以外は今回が初である。14年に海外で発売された限定ボックス・セット『ザ・コンプリート・スタジオ・レコーディングス』に収められていたリマスター音源が、日本のみタイトル別かつBlu-spec CD2仕様での発売が実現した。
