[プレミアム・シリーズ JAZZ BEST 100 第3期] マイルス・デイビス生誕80周年、没後15年特別企画。マイルス・デイビス紙ジャケ復刻ベスト30。 30年にわたる米COLUMBIAとのレコード契約の中で人気アルバム・ベスト30タイトルを3ヶ月にわたり要望の高かった紙ジャケ仕様でリリース。今回はあくまでもマイルスとプロデューサーが意図したオリジナル・アルバムの形にこだわった完全生産限定盤。 紙ジャケット全30タイトル購入特典あり(Miles DavisスペシャルBOX)。抽選特典(クール&コレクテッド特製Tシャツ)応募券封入。2001年DSDマスタリング予定。 ワシントンD.C.におけるライヴと通常のスタジオ録音をただ単にカップリングしただけでなく、テオ・マセロにより高度に編集を施された名作。過去共演した中で、もっともすごかった奴はキース・ジャレットだと語るマイルスの言葉通り、ここでのキースの演奏は本当に凄まじい。キース自身はピアノ以外の楽器を演奏することは嫌がったが、マイルスの頼みならば演奏するとマイルスの下でのみオルガンやローズを演奏したが、他の作品ではチック・コリアなど他のキーボーディストとの共演が多く、キースのみの演奏が聴けるのはこの作品だけという非常に貴重な音源。1970年録音。銀蒸着CD仕様。米 COLUMBIA盤オリジナルカップリング(ボーナストラックなし)。レーベル面を出来る限り再現。CBSソニーから最初にリリースされた日本盤の帯を出来る限り復刻。原盤ライナー邦訳所収。
