これぞフレンチ・ピアニズムの粋! 20世紀最大のフランス人ピアニスト、ロベール・カサドシュ(1899-1972)。親交のあったラヴェルやドビュッシーなどに代表される20世紀フランス音楽、そして珠玉のモーツァルト演奏家としても高名な存在だが、レパートリーは幅広く、作曲家としても多数の作品を残している。当アルバムは、カサドゥシュがコロンビアに残したベートーヴェンのピアノ協奏曲の全録音を集成したもの。ステレオ収録の第1番・第4番では、コロンビアへの登場が珍しいベイヌム+コンセルトヘボウが十全のバックアップ。ニューヨーク・フィルのヨーロッパ・ツアー中にパリで録音された「皇帝」は、ミトロプーロスのエネルギッシュな協調ぶりが聴きもの。いずれも究極の美音で奏でるカザドゥシュならではの高貴なベートーヴェン解釈である。唯一の録音となったファリャの「スペインの庭の夜」の名演を併録。日本独自企画盤。録音: 1959年3月1日&2日、1955年9月19日、他 アムステルダム、パリ、シャゼリゼ劇場、他
