The original work is a novel by Kureha, published since 2020 and supported by many readers. This wildly popular Japanese-style romance fantasy has seized readers' maiden hearts and boasts the greatest momentum right now. Set in a world where ayakashi and humans coexist, this film tells a story woven by two people who were never meant to meet. Playing Reiya Kiryuin, the next head of the oni clan that stands at the top of all ayakashi and a man of sublime charisma, is Ren Nagase, in his first leading role in a full-fledged love story film. Playing Yuzu Shinonome, an ordinary female college student who has been unloved and mistreated by her family, is Ai Yoshikawa. Yuzu (Ai Yoshikawa), compared to her younger sister, the bride of a fox spirit, and unloved and mistreated by her family, encounters the one who stands at the top of all ayakashi, an oni. Chosen as his bride by Reiya (Ren Nagase), the next head of the oni clan, Yuzu is bewildered by the sudden turn of events, but she is gradually drawn to Reiya's clumsy yet gentle and sincere ways, while Reiya, born to carry his clan's future and long burdened by responsibility and loneliness, finds himself healed by Yuzu. The two find where they belong and grow certain of their love. However, Yuzu's younger sister Karin (Rin Kataoka), displeased that Yuzu has become the "oni's bride," schemes with her fiance, the fox spirit Yota (Kentaro Ito), to tear the two apart.
