夜叉ヶ池 4Kデジタルリマスター版 / 邦画
幻想文学の礎を築いた泉鏡花の原作を、『梟の城』(99)や『スパイ・ゾルゲ』(03)などで知られる巨匠・篠田正浩監督が、1979年に取り組んだ意欲作。当時歌舞伎界を一世風靡していた女方の坂東玉三郎が初めて映画に出演し、村に暮らす女性・百合と夜叉ヶ池の竜神・白雪姫の二役を演じて妖艶な世界を表現した。公開から42年の時を経て、4Kデジタルリマスター版で蘇る。日本の特撮技術の基礎を築いた特撮監督の矢島信男の指揮のもと、大船撮影所のステージを大改造して作ったセットで、50トンもの水を使い大洪水シーンを実現。クライマックスの洪水シーンの撮影のために、ブラジルのイグアスの滝やハワイを始めとする海外ロケも敢行され、まさに圧巻の光景! ――三国嶽のふもとの琴弾谷に、夜叉ヶ池の伝説の調査に来た学者の山沢(山崎努)は、迷いこんだ池のほとりで、息を飲むほど美しい女性と出会う。百合(坂東玉三郎)というその女性は、夫と二人で鐘楼守をしているという。家に招かれた山沢は、かつての親友で、夜叉ヶ池の調査に出たまま帰らぬ晃(加藤剛)が百合の夫であることを知り驚愕する。夜叉ヶ池には竜神が封じ込められていて、一日に三度鐘を撞かなければ竜神が再び暴れて洪水を引き起こし、村が流されてしまうため、鐘楼守をすることになったのだという。しかし、ある出来事がきっかけとなり、平穏な日々が破られることになるのだった――。ポストカード、プレスシート縮刷版封入。
