アコースティックギタリスト・押尾コータローのニューアルバムが到着! 『PASSENGER』はまるで世界各地を旅しながら綴られたポストカード集のような仕上がりとなった。今年1月には既にショートバージョンのミュージックビデオも公開されている、サキソフォン奏者上野耕平とのコラボ曲「冬の晴レルヤ feat. 上野耕平 (2020年MBSお天気部冬のテーマ曲)」の他、光に向かって前に進むメッセージを込めた「GOLD RUSH」、未来の子供達の楽園を描いた「EDEN」、12弦ギターと異国情緒溢れる響きを組み合わせた「Shanghai Lover」、フレットレスギターを使った衝撃のサウンド「Smoky Slider」、パプースとスティングのアンサンブルが愛らしい「週末旅行」、押尾のルーツともいえるラグタイム調の「Heart Break Cats」、80年代のJ-POPを聴いているかのような「少年の僕」、バリトンギターをフィーチャーしたバラード「アサガオ」などなど。今回はなんと15曲のレコーディングに16本の異なるギターを使用。 初回生産限定盤のDVDには、「GOLD RUSH」「EDEN」のミュージックビデオとメイキング映像を収録。
