古代祐三の初期作が、最新のアレンジを加えてリバイバル! 「ザ・スキーム」は、1988年にPC-88専用タイトルとして発売された横スクロールアクションゲームです。同作のサントラは、ゲーム音楽の歴史のなかでも多大な影響を及ぼす古代氏が初期に制作したもので、ゲーム音楽のファンに今もなお愛され続けている名曲です。古代氏は「ザ・スキーム」の原曲の雰囲気を保ちつつ、PC-88の純粋な音源に後のキャリアで学び得た作曲手法や最新の技術を加え、80年代当時のハードウエアシンセサイザーを中心に再構成し、全曲を"21世紀"的なアレンジに仕上げています。またアルバムのカバーアートは、ゲームイラストレーターである杉森建氏 (代表作: ポケモン他) に「ザ・スキーム」に登場する暗い洞窟の世界観を新鮮に表現する新規イラストを描いていただきました。
