Edge of Time

However, the solid quality of their only remaining album, "Edge of Time" (1972), has been the talk of the town among avid progressive rock enthusiasts since the 1990s. The band skillfully combines acoustic, percussion, organ, flute, noise, collage, oriental melodies, breathtaking intervals of sound, and many other elements to create a unique world full of acid trip elements, similar to Pink Floyd, Ashera, Amondur II, and others. The album's worldview is maintained, but the music is also more unique. The four unique bonus tracks, which continue the album's worldview while branching out into festivals and electronics, are also worth listening to.

クラウトロック黎明期にノイやクラフトワークのメンバーともステージを共にしていたデュッセルドルフ・シーンのカルト・バンド「DOM」の唯一作がピッグ・ライダーやオベロンの発掘でおなじみのスペインの再発レーベル「Sommor」からリマスター復刻。DOMはジャーマン・ロックの聖地デュッセルドルフで70年代初頭のわずかな期間だけ活動していた短命の4人組バンド。メンバーたちは前身グループ時代からノイやクラフトワークのメンバーともステージを共にするなどしていた実力派でしたが全員音楽専業ではなくバンド解散後はデザインや研究などそれぞれ別の道へ。しかしながら唯一残された本作『Edge of Time』(1972年)の確かなクオリティは90年代から熱心なプログレ愛好家たちのあいだで話題となっていた。アコースティック、パーカッション、オルガン、フルート、ノイズやコラージュ、オリエンタルなメロディ、息をのむような音の間など、さまざまな要素を巧みに組み合わせながら、ピンク・フロイドやアシュ・ラ、アモンデュールIIなどにも通じるような、アシッド・トリップ要素満載の独自世界を構築。アルバムの世界観を継ぎつつも祭りや電子へと枝分かれしていくユニークな4曲のボーナス・トラックも聞き応えあり。
