Six Pieces For Solo Violin

[Machine Translation] Sofia Yani is a pianist/composer who first gained attention with her duo Relive with Carlos Chipa. Violinist Teresa Algaier is a member of the ambient-pop unit Fall Wonder, and has worked extensively in pop and classical music, and participated in Yani's solo debut in 2022. Both Munich-based musicians have released an album together on the up-and-coming local label Squama, which also releases works by Paul Brandl, Enzi, and Polygonia. The album consists of "6 pieces for solo violin" (7 pieces in total including a prelude) composed by Yani and performed by Algaier. This is a challenging album that tries to combine modern compositional ideas with the traditional tone of the violin. The liberating tone of the solo violin transcends the boundaries of post-classical and avant-pop music, and on first listen, a simple but deep and rich world unfolds endlessly.
