Featured guest artist is a Canadian singer and songwriter, Jane Siberry (known for "Calling All Angels", the theme to the movie "Pay It Forward".) Includes "Bougainvillea", his first song done with Okinawa music scale.

2年ぶり3枚目のアルバムは、本とCDのコンポジット(複合)作品。本は、140P(カラー48P、モノクロ92P)。タイトルの「雲ノ箱」、この象徴であるロープウェイを中心にした外間隆史自身撮影による写真作品、掌編小説、映画監督・青山真治氏(ユリイカ)との往復書簡、外間隆史自身が作品を語る初めてのロングインタビュー等、内容も充実!! CDは、全10曲(うち5曲はフルインスト曲)収録。カナダのシンガーソングライター、ジェーン・シベリー(映画「ペイフォード」主題曲"CALLING ALL ANGELS")をゲストに迎える。今作では今まで以上にVOICEやVOCALを多用、独特なメディスンボイス(薬用声)が曲のところどころに散りばめられている。初の試みとしては、沖縄音階の楽曲を収録(bougainvillea)。
