Redemption

A solo album by Rick Hughes, widely known as the singer of the Canadian metal band SWORD, featuring an impressive lineup of guest musicians! SWORD is a classic Canadian traditional metal band formed in 1980 that left a strong impression on fans worldwide with its 1st album "Metalized" (1986) and 2nd album "Sweet Dreams" (1988). After reuniting in 2011, the band released the long-awaited original album "III" (2022), staying true to its established direction and drawing major attention from metal maniacs. Now, Rick Hughes, SWORD's flagship singer, is releasing his first solo album in a while, his first since 2016. This album, "Redemption," is not aimed at French-speaking audiences like his previous releases, but is instead his first album aimed at English-speaking audiences. It is a hard rock work that is more melodic, focuses on vocals and story, and can appeal to the world in many ways. Another highlight is the diverse and star-studded list of guest participants. Metal fans will surely be moved to tears after watching the music video for The Who cover "The Real Me," which has already been released on YouTube and other platforms and become newsworthy, featuring Brad Gillis (g), Rudy Sarzo (b), and Tommy Aldridge (dr), the three members who came together from Ozzy Osbourne's "Speak Of The Devil (Akuma no Sasayaki)." In addition, fellow Canadian Lee Aaron (vo), former The Doors member Robbie Krieger (g), and Jacob Deraps, guitarist of the Canadian band DERAPS, which has also become a topic in Japan for evoking early Van Halen, also participate and deliver outstanding performances. The album was produced by John Webster, known for working with Aerosmith and Motley Crue, and was recorded in Vancouver, Canada at "Hipposonic Studio." Backed by Rick Hughes' skill and career, this long-awaited masterpiece packed with excellent vocals and songs is finally being released!
