『アメリ』の脚本家としても知られるギョーム・ローランの小説「Happy Hand」を原作に、これまで主に短編作品を発表してきたジェレミー・クラパン監督が初の長編作品として発表。パリのとある医療施設から、切断された手が逃げ出す。再び自身の身体とつながりたい手は、身体の持ち主である孤独な青年ナウフェルを捜して、ネズミやハトにおいかけながらも街を彷徨う。手は何かに触れるごとに、青年が経験した家族の思い出やある悲劇、青春の苦悩や恋心などがカットバックで語られていく。音楽は、フランスの人気ポップ・デュオThe Doのダン・レヴィが担当。儚くも切ない音楽が胸を打つ。
