街で一番オシャレな花屋「mellow」と、廃業寸前のラーメン屋を舞台に、その周辺の様々な人々のたくさんの実らない恋を描いた本作は、今泉力哉監督のオリジナルストーリー。監督が得意とするキャラクター描写やユーモア溢れるセリフのやり取り、じんわりと胸に響くストーリー展開はそのままに、滑稽さやカッコ悪さも含めて、包み隠さず「恋愛」を描き出す。そして、音楽は、『愛がなんだ』に続いてゲイリー芦屋が担当。甘く切ないピアノ曲は、まるでトリュフォーの『大人は判ってくれない』のよう。全編に温もりを感じる良質な音楽が物語を彩る。
