Live At The Montreux Jazz Festival

A legendary live album released only in Japan in 1972. With no compromise whatsoever, a stripped-down Roy Ayers approaches the very essence of groove. Roy Ayers is a vibraphonist who has captivated audiences around the world. There is no end to the list of his masterpieces, but among them, this work "Live At The Montreux Jazz Festival" has been particularly supported for its content and rarity. It is one of the earliest works released under the Ubiquity name, one of the few live recordings, and was produced exclusively as a Japan-only release. With several factors overlapping, its existence has become legendary. The album includes the feverish "Daddy Bug", the cool and psychedelic "In A Silent Way", the intensely grooving "Move To Groove" featuring vocals by Harry Whitaker, and "A Cup Of Tea", whose dynamic shifts create an exciting development. The edgy performances suggest both the creative peak of Roy Ayers during this period and the coming golden age of Ubiquity. This is truly a live performance of pure excitement.
