[Machine Translation] -CITY POP COVERS for all city pop lovers - Yuu Sakai's first cover album is a selection of city pop classics from the 70s and 80s. Collaboration with creator team origami PRODUCTIONS! Yuu Sakai is a singer-songwriter who sublimates her musical influences of soul, R&B, jazz, and gospel into J-POP with her silky voice. Her ninth album is her first cover album. As the title "CITY POP LOVERS" suggests, Sakai has been influenced by and loves the city pop of the 70s and 80s, and has teamed up with Origami PRODUCTIONS, a creative team of artists and producers including Ovall, Kan Sano, and Michael Kaneko. The album features the refined sound of origami and Sakai's voice, and is a reincarnation of classic songs. The DVD on the limited first edition includes a live performance "Drunken Whale Brewery presents Yu Sakai sings Whale Song" at Tosa Shimizu Kuroshio Hall in Kochi on August 6, 2022 (Sat) to celebrate the release of "Whale Song EP" (released in June 2022), a collection of songs related to his hometown, Kochi.
