Launched in 1987, Gene Roddenberry's "Star Trek: The Next Generation" successfully continued its mission throughout seven seasons to seek out new life, new civilizations and new ways to expand the franchise, and to boldly go where no syndicated series has gone before. With per-episode budget worthy of 50 Japanese indie-movies, the show boasted state-of-the-art special effects, and a great cast headed by the charismatic Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard who, after 5 series based on and including the original '60s show, remains the most beloved starship captain of them all. This 7-disc set consists of 6 discs containing 23 first-season episodes, and an additional (7th) disc containing 2 episodes and over one hour of extra material including making-of featurettes. This version comes in a slip-case with the discs housed in digipak (keep-case sized).
Special Feature / Bonus Track: The bonus (7th) disc contains: "The Beginning" (the genesis of STTNG and creator Gene Roddenberry's vision), "Memorable Missions" (cast & crew discuss key episodes/events of the 1st season), & more.
