ロバート・グラスパーとのR+R=Nowや、同じくグラスパーに、カマシ・ワシントン、ナインス・ワンダーまで擁するディナー・パーティーと、数々のプロジェクトで現代ジャズの推進に余念がないテラス・マーティンが、自らのバンドとして結成した「グレイ・エリア」。そのバンドのお披露目として、2020年にJammcard主催のイヴェント「JammJam」で行ったライヴ・パフォーマンスの模様を収録した配信限定のライヴ・アルバムが遂にCDでリリース!!! 気になるライヴの内容は、2分ほどのイントロを終えた後に突如として始まる"For Free?"で一気に爆発。曲名通り、テラス・マーティン本人がプロデュースしたケンドリック・ラマーの傑作『To Pimp a Butterfly』に収録された名曲"For Free?"のジャズ・カヴァーで、8分を超える超熱演を披露。キーボードのソロ・プレイを前面に押し出した甘味の強いバラード"Great Is Thy Faithfulness"を間に挟みつつ、テラスの盟友、カマシ・ワシントンがゲストとして参加した"Juno"、"Stop Trippin'"の2曲では、なんとどちらも20分近くにも及ぶ白熱のジャム・セッションを繰り広げる。これぞまさにジャズのライヴの魅力が120%パッケージされた極上のライヴ・アルバム! 日本独自CD化。
