The character of Zatoichi was first made famous by the late Shintaro Katsu, who reprised the popular role no less than 25 times in the series.This Zatoichi boxed set contains 6 of the popular Zatoichi movies, all anamorphically remastered with a new telecine from the original negative, with a bonus disc containing a Zatoichi documentary: "Zatoichi Abaredako" (1962), "Zatoichi Kessho Tabi" (1964), "Zatoichi Sekisho Yaburi" (1964), "Zatoichi Nidangiri" (1965), "Zatoichi Sakategiri" (1964), "Zatoichi Jigoku Tabi" (1965), and bonus disc "Kikigaki Zatoichi - Eiga Zatoichi no Sekai (working title)."
