2009年1月4日放送の『必殺仕事人2009 新春スペシャル』がDVDで登場! 2007年7月にスペシャルドラマとして復活し、大好評を博した『必殺仕事人』が、東山紀之、松岡昌宏、大倉忠義、そして藤田まことら、超豪華キャスト陣もそのままに帰ってくる!! 南町奉行所見廻り同心・渡辺小五郎 (東山紀之)、絵師でもある経師屋の涼次 (松岡昌宏)、役儀任免で南町奉行所自身番となった中村主水 (藤田まこと)らは、表稼業をこなしながらも、仕事人として闇にまぎれて悪人たちを討つ日々を送っていた。ただ一人、からくり屋の源太 (大倉忠義)だけは、仕事人として人を殺めたことを後悔して葛藤しながら、作太郎 (前田航基)とともにめし処「その」を営んでいた。江戸の街では、なぜか薬の値が高騰する事態が起こる。主水が自身番を勤める長屋横丁でも、与平 (前田吟)ら貧しい老人たちが薬の高騰にあえいでいた。そこに、薬を安売りする薬種問屋恵比寿屋が現れる。店の主・恵比寿屋善兵衛 (竜雷太)は救世主としてあがめられるが、彼には裏の顔があった・・・。そんな中、素浪人・権藤伊左衛門 (沢村一樹)が江戸にやってくる。彼は小五郎の剣術道場時代の同士で、自慢の剣の腕で世直しをして名を上げようともくろんでいた。のんきに奉行所勤めをしている小五郎の前で、悪人を闇から闇へと葬る仕事人をクズ呼ばわりする伊左衛門。その矢先、薬の高騰に耐えかねた与平たちは、お上に対して長屋に立てこもり、窮状を訴える決意をした。 特製ポストカード封入 (ベタ付)。
