『フラガール』『パッチギ!』のシネカノン製作/配給の08年夏話題の劇場大ヒット作品! 第2次世界大戦中の1943年10月16日、学生たちの徴兵検査のわずか9日前に行われた、今も語り継がれる伝説の試合を描いた感動の戦争ドラマ。日本映画界の重鎮が、期待の若手と演技派俳優たちの競演を実現! あの日、この場所で――打った、走った、僕らは輝いた。65年の時を経て、今も語り継がれる伝説のゲーム。そこには選手たちの熱き想いと、愛する人たちの切なる願いがあった――。 青い空の下、グラウンドで無心に白球を追いかける若者たち。1943年、太平洋戦争が彼らの青春の日々を奪おうとしていた。「野球は敵国アメリカのスポーツだ」と六大学野球が廃止、さらに学生に対する徴兵の猶予が停止、彼らはバットを捨て、銃をとらねばならないのだ。しかし、早稲田大学野球部の選手たちは、今日も練習に励んでいる。顧問の飛田穂州は、出陣のその日まで野球を続けると誓う。野手の戸田順治は、厳格な父から「この非常時に」となじられたが、志願した兄の「戦争は俺に任せて、お前は野球をやれ」という言葉を胸に、合宿所生活を続ける。彼らの願いは一つ、「試合がしたい」ただそれだけだった。ある日、慶応義塾塾長の小泉信三が、飛田に「早慶戦」を申し込む。二度と帰れないかもしれない若者たちに生きた証を残してやりたい――小泉の切なる願いを飛田も喜んで受けとめるが、早稲田大学総長は頑として拒絶する。飛田の強行突破で、遂に幕を開ける早慶戦。それは、別れであると同時に、明日への希望に満ちたゲームだった・・・。
