命を救う人間が、恋に落ちてはいけませんか。斎藤工、フジテレビドラマ初主演! 共演に石田ゆり子、相武紗季、平山浩行、板谷由夏、三宅弘城、伊原剛志、生瀬勝久といった個性と実力を兼ね備えた豪華俳優陣が顔を揃える! 大学病院を舞台に、医師それぞれが"悩み"を抱えながらも、出世争い・恋愛・不倫・三角関係など、さまざまな欲望が渦巻く中で生きていく"医療ラブストーリー"。 ――365日24時間、患者を救うことだけを考えて生きてきた外科医・守田春樹(斎藤工)は、腕を磨くために江洋医科大学附属病院の第一外科准教授を務める先輩・仁志祐介(伊原剛志)を頼り、同病院に勤務することになった。ホテルで仁志と別れた春樹は、披露宴会場で来客のひとりが吐血して倒れたことを知り、現場に駆けつける。すでにそこでは、披露宴に出席していた江洋医科大附属病院の外科医・近藤千鶴(石田ゆり子)が処置にあたっていた。ところがそこに、千鶴の患者が急変したとの知らせが入る。春樹は、ここは自分が引き継ぐから病院に戻った方が良い、と千鶴に申し出る。あくる日、江洋医科大附属病院を訪れた春樹は、千鶴と再会し、一緒に働くことになったことを彼女に伝えた。朝、カンファレンスルームにでは、シングルマザーの麻酔医・河合奈々(相武紗季)、第一外科講師の高橋宗太郎(平山浩行)、千鶴の親友で不妊治療中の内科医・市川友子(板谷由夏)ら全スタッフの前で、経営管理部長の渡辺幹夫(生瀬勝久)が話をする。渡辺は、不貞行為を働いた医局長を退職させたことを報告すると、経営に影響を与える要素を取り払うのは当然だとして、今後は院内の恋愛トラブルに厳しく対処する、と皆に告げる。
