史上最大の「タレント王国」はこうして築かれた! 日本のエンターテインメントの基盤を創った、草分け的人物・渡辺晋を中心に豪華キャスト&貴重な映像で綴る。フジテレビ開局3ヵ月後にスタートし、大ヒットした番組『ザ・ヒットパレード』。この番組を企画し、それからも次々と人気番組、有名タレントを輩出した芸能プロダクション、渡辺プロダクションの創始者、渡辺晋(柳葉敏郎)の物語。昭和23年、大学生の晋は戦後の貧しい時代を乗り切る手段としてバンドマンという職業に目をつけた。同じ頃、日本女子大学に通う曲直瀬美佐(常盤貴子)は、米軍キャンプに学生バンドを紹介するアルバイトをしていた。当時の米軍キャンプでは、日本のジャズ・バンドの演奏が兵士たちに受けていて、バンドの依頼は豊富。晋はウッドベースを借り、ギターを持つ友人の清水高志(吉田栄作)を誘い、演奏もままならないながらキャンプのバンドに潜り込む。そんな二人を、美佐は微笑みながら見ていた――。特典ディスク1枚が付いたDVD3枚組。
