Description

DVD release from the theatrical anime "Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror" derected by Shinsuke Sato ("GANTZ") and animated by Production I.G. A high school girl Haruka, who had been separated from her mother as a small child, had a somewhat strained relationship with her father, who was away from home most of the time. On her way to visit her grandmother in her attempt to escape from the stresses of daily life, she comes upon a curious sight at the shrine, where she had played at in her childhood. A small fox was carrying a toy rubber-band plane somewhere. Haruka thrusts into a forest to follow the fox and fall into a mysterious puddle, which is a entrance of a wonder world. . .

あなたの忘れてしまったモノがこの島にあります。 『スカイ・クロラ The Sky Crawlers』などを手掛けたプロダクションI.Gと、『踊る大捜査線』シリーズのフジテレビがタッグを組んだ冒険物語。今や忘れ去られた数々の品々で作られた"ホッタラケの島"に、偶然迷い込んだ少女の大冒険を描く。監督と脚本を担当するのは『県庁の星』や『砂時計』など、ヒューマンドラマに強い佐藤信介。 幼い頃に母と死別した女子高生・遥は、不在がちな父との関係も少しギクシャクしていた。そんな日常から逃れるよう武蔵野の祖母を訪ねる途中、遥は子供の頃に遊んでいた神社で不思議な光景を目にする。小さな"きつね"がおもちゃのゴム式飛行機をどこかへ運んでいるのだ。きつねを追って森に入った遥は不思議な水たまりに引きずりこまれ、不思議な世界に迷い込んだ。そこは「ホッタラケ」を集めて暮らす住人が住む世界だった・・・。 ピクチャーレーベル仕様。
