The Bayside Shakedowns Series is my favourite Japanese drama and its spin-off movies are very entertaining very likeable casts and enjoyable story lines. That all seems to go out the window in what may be the final installment in the BS saga. "The Suspect" starts of very well building up interest and keeping you glued to the screen for the first 1:30 but then fails miserably in the denouement and resolution. While Rena Tanaka and Yoshiro Yanagawa turn in great performances, when it matters most, the film fails to deliver what we've expected from the BS series, a climactic and engaging finale.The story falls apart in the last 30 minutes, too much is tried in too little time and the showdown you have been waiting for never materializes. This film was a big letdown for me, and if indeed this is it for the series, then what a bad way to go out.
