I've seen Dragonball Z in the past, I've purchased those horrible "remastered" box sets from Funimation, but seriously... you can forget all that because THESE DVDs are the ultimate in Dragonball Z viewing. I just can't get over how fantastic the show looks. If you're disappointed with those horrible widescreen releases in the US & Australia & you don't care whether the show is subbed or not then this is for you.

I have purchased every US Dragon Ball, Z, GT DVD release on launch. I decided to start looking for an original Toei release. After searching the net, I found that the Dragon Boxes are expensive and mostly all used, due to production restrictions. I found that the Toei Dragon Box Single DVD's were much easier to acquire and you can budget yourself to 4 a month. Rather then withdrawling from your savings account for the Dragon Boxes. These Toei (with Pony Canyon) releases preserve all the original color. The sound is in monaraul but is more comparable to stereo. They also reduce the jitters.(bouncy screen) No croping, it appears only slighty zoomed in. We get all the openings, closings, previews ect. The cover art, DVD art, and insert contents are better then anything I've ever seen. The only complaint I ever hear is about the lack of subtitles. I personally could careless. I already know everything thats going on, why would I want to read?
A great dvd containing the first episodes of Dragonball Z. Great picture and sound same as the Dragon Box. If you missed out on the Dragon Box here is another chance. A great buy!
