元さくら学院の日高麻鈴が、若手女優を起用した音楽プロジェクト"Magico"の第3弾として登場! はっぴいえんどの「12月の雨の日」をカヴァー! 山本精一&senoo rickyが、はっぴいえんどへのリスペクトを込めて「あえて完コピ」! 気鋭の若手実力派女優を起用した現在進行中の音楽プロジェクト"Magico" (マジコ)。Magicoとはポルトガル語で「魔法の」といった意味で、今しか捉えることができない若手女優たちの魔法の瞬間を音楽 (歌)で切り取り、季節ごとに紹介しようというもの。そのプロジェクトの第一弾、夏 (Verano)編の中野有紗、第二弾、秋 (Outono)編の石川瑠華につづき、第3弾となる冬 (Inverno)編として、弾き語りが趣味という自他ともに認める音楽好きの日高麻鈴を紹介する。12月生まれの日高にちなみ、はっぴいえんどが1970年に発表したファースト・アルバム収録の名曲「12月の雨の日」をカヴァー。7インチ・シングルでリリースする。主演作『麻希のいる世界』では、バンドでギターを演奏するシーンも披露している日髙の凛とした歌唱を、本プロジェクト全作品のプロデュースを務める、アヴァン・ポップの最前衛の一人として、長く日本のオルタナティヴ・シーンの最前線で活躍する音楽家、山本精一が演出。日高のまっすぐ清廉な歌声が、楽曲に新たな息吹を吹き込んでいる。かなりの洋楽好きでもある日高。カップリングには、かねてより好きだったというシンディ・ローパーの名曲「トゥルー・カラーズ」のカヴァーを収録。情感あふれる見事な歌声を披露している。山本と同じく、本プロジェクト全作品のヴィジュアルを担当する、著名女優の写真集なども手がけるフォトグラファー、熊谷直子の撮影による日高の写真を使用したアートワークにも注目。 ※日高麻鈴の高は、はしご高が正式表記です。
