A included song "Try This One More Time" is the theme song for the Japanese dubbed version of the Hollywood blockbuster "Transformers: Beast Awakening." Comes with a Playlist card with serial code(s) to listen songs included in this single. It can be played by downloading the dedicated application "SZ10TH app" (system requirements unknown). The Limited Edition Type B comes with a DVD, including an entertainment show "Hitotsu dake Usohome ga Kakuretemasu! Sexy Zone no Homehome Uson."

Sexy Zone通算24枚目となるニューシングル。表題曲である「本音と建前」は、菊池風磨が主演を務めるカンテレ・フジテレビ系 火曜23時ドラマ「火ドラ★イレブン」『ウソ婚』主題歌。椎名林檎が作詞作編曲を担った提供楽曲!! 今回のコラボレーションはSexy Zone、ドラマサイド両者からの熱烈オファーにより実現。椎名林檎がドラマの原作マンガと台本を読み込み書き下ろした楽曲で、ドラマのテーマである"ウソから始まる甘酸っぱくて大人のラブストーリー"を存分に感じさせながらも、今までにないSexy Zoneの魅力を最大限引き出した作品となっている。収録曲の「Try This One More Time」は、Sexy Zone グループ初となる、ハリウッド超大作『トランスフォーマー/ビースト覚醒』(8月4日公開)日本語吹替版の主題歌。初回限定盤BのDVDには、「1つだけウソホメが隠れてます!
