Buxtehude: Abendmusiken

夕べの音楽・・・それは北ドイツの港湾大都市リューベックで、取引所の近くにあった聖母教会を会場にして行われていた音楽会のこと。17世紀末、スウェーデンとデンマークで経験を積んだ名匠ブクステフーデが運営していたこの集いは国際的に知られ、年若い頃のバッハもわざわざ大旅行をして聴きに来たほどだった。8人の精鋭歌手によるソリスト編成でバロック期の傑作を続々録音してきたヴォクス・ルミニスが、彼らと同様ドイツ語圏の17世紀音楽を得意とする古楽器集団アンサンブル・マスクと手を携え制作したブクステフーデ・アルバムは、バルト海に面した北方世界で、バッハ以前の人々が触れていた"人生の夕べ"をいつくしもうとする音楽のひとときを、ありありと今に甦らせる。歌詞の語句をわかりやすく伝える極小編成の歌唱、ヴェテランぞろいの室内楽編成の魅力をみごと収めた自然派録音。低音楽器ばかりの珍しいトリオなど、室内楽曲の選曲も絶妙。
