新婚早々失踪した妻は、"くノ一"だった! 無類の天文好きで風采のあがらない男と、凄腕の"くノ一"が織り成す、せつない愛の物語。市川染五郎が、寺子屋でこどもたちを教えながら、失踪した妻を捜しつづける主人公・彦馬を演じる。かどわかしや、謎の火の玉など、彦馬の周囲で起こる怪事件を謎解きするのも見どころ。瀧本美織が時代劇に初挑戦。スピーディーで、キレのあるアクションシーンは必見。市川染五郎が、長男・松本金太郎とドラマ初共演。金太郎は、寺子屋の教え子の一人・藤松を演じる。2013年4月～5月 BSプレミアムにて放送。全8話収録。
