[Machine Translation] Black Level Motorcycle Club, a legendary three-piece from San Francisco, made their debut and established the garage rock movement with The Strokes and others! Black Level Motorcycle Club ( BRMC ) is an LA based rock band. The members are Peter Hayes (Vo&G), Robert Levon Bean (Vo&B), and Leah Shapiro (Drs). Their early albums are marked by classical hard rock reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and a psychedelic rock sound reminiscent of The Verve, Sonic Youth, and Jesus & Mary Chain. Robert's father is Michael Bean, the vocalist of the American rock band The Call, but he hid this fact when he first formed the band. Later, however, his father began to accompany BRMC on tour as part of the sound crew, and Robert began to open up about his relationship with the band. The feud between drummer Nick and the band had been whispered since around 2003, and after frequent stops and returns, Nick finally left the band in 2008. Leah Shapiro, who had been the touring drummer for the Danish band The Levonettes, officially joined BRMC as the new drummer. With the release of their last album "Beat the Devil's Tattoo" in March 2010, BRMC decided to leave the major labels and release their music on an independent label.

LAを拠点に活動するロック・バンド、ブラック・レベル・モーターサイクル・クラブ (BRMC)。メンバーは、ピーター・ヘイズ (Vo&G)、ロバート・レヴォン・ビーン (Vo&B)、リア・シャピロ (Drs)の3人。初期のアルバムは、レッド・ツェッペリンを匂わすようなクラシカル・ハード・ロックや、ザ・ヴァーヴ、ソニック・ユース、ジーザス&メリーチェインを彷彿とさせるサイケデリック・ロック調のサウンドが目立つ。米ロック・バンド、ザ・コールのヴォーカリストであるマイケル・ビーンを父に持つロバートだが、バンド結成当初はそのことを隠していた。しかしその後、父マイケルがBRMCのサウンド・クルーとしてツアーに同伴するようになり、ロバートも関係をオープンにするようになった。ドラマーのニックとバンドとの確執は2003年頃より囁かれており、度々休止や復帰を繰り返してきたニックだが、ついに2008年に脱退。その後、それまでデンマークのバンド、ザ・レヴォネッツのツアー・ドラマーとして活動していたリア・シャピロが、BRMCの新ドラマーとして正式加入した。そして2010年3月に発売された前作『ビート・ザ・デヴィルズ・タトゥー』よりメジャー・レーベルを離れ、インディより発売することを決意した。
