[Machine Translation] Metronomy frontman Joseph Mount has returned to his roots and completed his latest work, "SUMMER 08". The title, Summer 08, literally means "summer of 2008," the time when Metronomy's breakout album, "Nights Out," was released. Joseph was still single and 25 years old at the time. The fresh expression of the naive emotions of youth at that time can be felt throughout the entire album. The single "Old School," released prior to the album release, features Beastie Boys turntablist Mix Master Mike, a childhood hero of Joseph's who he never thought he would get to work with. The video for the song also includes a TV drama. The video for the song also features Sharon Horgan, who appears in the TV drama "Catastrophe," and Ben Crompton, who appears in "Games Of Thrones. メトロノミーのフロントマン、ジョセフ・マウントが原点に戻って作り上げた最新作『SUMMER 08』完成。タイトルのSummer 08とは、文字通り「2008年の夏」のことを表しており、メトロノミーの出世作『ナイツ・アウト』がリリースされた時期。当時まだ独身で25歳のジョセフ。その頃の若者のナイーブな感情をみずみずしく表現している様子が、本作全編を通して伝わって来る。アルバム・リリースに先駆けて発表されたシングル「オールド・スクール」では、彼の子供の頃からの英雄であり、共演が叶うとは思いもよらなかったというBeastie Boysのターンテーブリスト、Mix Master Mikeをフィーチャー。見事なスクラッチが収録されている。 また同曲のビデオにはTVドラマ“Catastrophe”に出演しているシャロン・ホーガン (Sharon Horgan)と“Games Of Thrones”に出演しているベン・クロンプトン (Ben Crompton)が登場している。スウェーデンのスター、ロビン (Robyn)とのデュエット・ナンバー「Hang Me Out To Dry」も収録! ちなみにこちらの楽曲はエロール・アルカンがミックスを手掛けている。
