[Machine Translation] Ouroboros" is the sixth album by folk-rock pioneer Ray Lamontagne, released two years after his last album "Supernova". The album was produced by Jim James (My Morning Jacket). 前作『Supernova』から約2年ぶりにリリースされるフォーク・ロックのパイオニア、レイ・ラモンターニュの6作目のアルバム『ウロボロス』。プロデューサーにジム・ジェームス (マイ・モーニング・ジャケット)を迎えて制作された。常に繰り返しを避け、新たな創作に挑む彼らしく、「これまでのどのアルバムとも違う」と称する今作は、約40分に収録された8曲が2部構成で収録されている。タイトル『ウロボロス』は、自らの尾を食べる円環状の竜や蛇のシンボルを指し、転じて自己再生や循環の意味を持つ。2004年のデビュー・アルバム『Trouble』が静かな大ヒット作となってから12年。“ヴァン・モリソン、ボブ・シーガーの再来”と評されながらリリースしたアルバムはいずれも高い評価を受け、アルバム『God Willin' & the Creek Don't Rise』(2010年)ではベスト・フォーク・アルバム賞を受賞。その傍らで気負いなく自身のメッセージを発信し続ける一貫したスタイルに、ツウなロック・ファンからは厚い支持を受けている。その新たな“再生”のメッセージにも注目が集まる。
