新解釈を交えて写実的に再現したマスク特有の体型をバランスよく立体化したウルトラセブン彫像の決定版ウルトラセブンはシンプルデザインの境地ともいえるウルトラマンのデザインからさらに突き詰めた独特のデザインである。一見複雑そうでありながら、ちょっとしたデッサンの違いで似ても似つかぬ物に仕上がってしまうシンプルデザインと同じ難しさがある。そのウルトラセブンを木下隆志が徹底的にリサーチして造形再現した決定版ともいえる立体彫像が登場。【マスク】『ウルトラセブン』10話前後からメインに使用された首の下が赤く、アイスラッガー正面に窪みが無いタイプのスーツを再現。このタイプのスーツは後頭部のネオプレーンが正面から見ると耳の辺りで出っ張っており顔の輪郭が横広に見える特徴がある。スーツのバリエーションでマスク自体はそれぞれ大差がないのに、丸顔に見えるセブンを考証して立体再現した初めての立体物といえる。マスクは西村祐次氏(M1号)が貯蔵する実物プロップを検証し、写実的に造形再現。従来のポリ成形では不可能な実物のマスクに見られる目の特徴を再現。 アイスラッガーはマグネットで取り外し可能スーツの質感も実物どおりを追求両足で固定できるコールドキャスト製専用台座付き。[原型制作]木下隆志
