Mr. Ito, the designer who has been creating costumes for Yuzuru Hanyu for many years, created new costumes specifically for this project. Hanyu actually wore these costumes-what we call "haute couture on ice"-and was photographed and filmed in them.

The photography was handled by Toru Yaguchi, a photographer who, like Mr. Ito, has been photographing Yuzuru Hanyu for many years.
All the works featured in this collection were shot exclusively on a privately rented ice rink.

This special project-unprecedented in that not only is Yuzuru Hanyu a skater, but every costume and photograph is a one-of-a-kind piece-has taken shape, resulting in a truly unique collection.

In addition to the hardcover, 144-page, full-color photo book featuring all-new shots, this deluxe set includes an embroidered lace and photo set in an original framed holder, a behind-the-scenes collection, a concept and interview collection, special videos, and original "Couture on Ice" files.

Three costumes newly created by Mr. Ito specifically for inclusion in this photo book (Knight of the White Peacock / Sakura / Energy) . A costume previously gifted by Mr. Ito to Yuzuru Hanyu (Moonlight Sonata) . The costume Hanyu cited as his best among his competition costumes (Heaven and Earth) . The costume Mr. Ito selected from his performance wardrobe for inclusion in the photo book (Fire Bird) . Hanyu was photographed and filmed gliding across the ice wearing a total of six costumes.

Embroidered Lace & Photo Set (includes original framed holder)

An original holder that allows you to display the white peacock embroidered lace used in the "Knight of the White Peacock" costume, framed, together with a photo of Hanyu wearing the costume.
The gold-embellished peacock embroidered lace was created from scratch specifically for this project and is an extremely rare item not available to the general public. One side features a photo of Yuzuru Hanyu-the main visual also used on the cover of the photo book. The front features a luxurious design with the title foil-stamped in gold.

Behind-the-Scenes Collection "Making of Couture on Ice"

A behind-the-scenes photo book capturing the fitting process.
Fittings are an essential step in costume production, involving checking sizes with basted garments and testing functionality by actually skating on the ice. For this project as well, fittings were conducted prior to the photo shoot. The book is packed with rare shots not seen on the main stage.

Concept & Interview Booklet "Concept & Interview of Couture on Ice"

The text includes a concept explanation by costume designer Mr. Ito, Hanyu's impressions of wearing the costumes and his thoughts on the designs, as well as the reasons why Hanyu and Mr. Ito chose "Heaven and Earth" and "Fire Bird," respectively.

We introduce the passionate dedication hidden behind these beautiful costumes and the stories behind them.

Figure skater.

Four-time Grand Prix Final champion and gold medalist at the 2014 Sochi and 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Since turning professional, he has served as executive producer and star of his own ice shows. He enjoys immense popularity worldwide thanks to his unique skating style and presence.

Costume designer.

In addition to designing costumes for Yuzuru Hanyu for over 10 years, she has been responsible for costumes for top skaters both in Japan and abroad, including Mao Asada's ice shows and those of skater Ilya Malinin. In 2026, she received the Best Costume Award from the International Skating Union. In recent years, she has expanded her scope to include wedding dress design, creating only one-of-a-kind pieces. Her designs, characterized by vivid gradients and intricate details, express the unique worldview of the wearer.
