MNICH, a Czech cult death metal band whose name means "monk." Their powerful second demo, released in 1997 and showcasing further evolution alongside astonishing quality, is finally being reissued on CD!



MNICH was formed in 1990 by the two founding members, Bob (drums) and Kamil (guitar) . After about two years of rehearsals, Jim (guitar) joined as the third member, and the band began full-scale activities. In 1994, they released their first demo album, "P?iv?tej Smrt (Embrace Death) ." Armed with this superb work, the band's activities gained even more momentum. Then, with Jirka (bass) joining as the fourth member, they released this long-awaited second demo album, "Impervious Gates Of Heaven," in 1997! (Originally released only on cassette tape)


MNICH, who had already boasted an extraordinary level of songwriting quality on their first demo, evolved even further with this second demo. While retaining their thrash-based guitar riffs and death-metal rhythms that weave together fast and slow tempos, they created an unbeatably powerful death metal album imbued with epic drama!



Now, Dead Maggoty Productions in the Czech Republic has finally released a limited-edition CD reissue of 300 copies! A small number of these will be sold as direct imports via DTD Distribution, formatted for the Japanese market. As a bonus, the release includes a jacket-sized sticker featuring the original cassette artwork and an obi strip.
