坂本龍馬、近江屋にて死す。下手人の沖田総司を追って万次は江戸の宗理屋敷へ。無限の住人シリーズ正真正銘の最終決戦、ついに開幕！江戸末期、坂本龍馬は薩長同盟を成立させると、武力倒幕ではなく大政奉還による無血革命を提言する。これにより龍馬は幕府のみならず諸藩からも命を狙われる身となり、京の近江屋に潜伏することに。そんな折、京都見廻組の刺客が潜伏先を襲撃し、続けて現れた新選組の沖田総司により龍馬は殺害されてしまう。そのまま沖田は江戸に運ばれ養生に努めていたが、数ヵ月後、仇討ちに燃える万次が出現。江戸期最後の死闘が幕を開けた。
