First things first: this is not an art book! I admit, I had expected it to be an art book at first and was a bit disappointed, but it is still nice. The book is very thick, as there are over 800 pages, and is hardcover. There are still some illustrations, mainly of each character from each game title, with more detailed profiles for the main characters, and brief ones (or none) for the minor characters. There are descriptions such as their age, height and weight, class/weapon type, hometown, etc, as well as quotes and other background information on the character. Everything is in Japanese, for the most part. In the back of the book, there is something like an encyclopedia of the Tales world, which has some pictures, but is all in black and white. Overall, it was nice to look at, and this is coming from a casual fan who doesn't have much experience with many of the titles. I only briefly played Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Symphonia (the sequel), Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of the World Radiant Mythology and saw the anime for ToP, ToS, and TotA. Bigger fans of the Tales series may enjoy this more.
