Karin

[Machine Translation] Duduk player Vardan Hovannissian and saz player Emre Gurtekin, who released the album "Adana" in 2015, named after Adana, a city in south-central Turkey, one of the sites of the Armenian Genocide, have created another great work. More than three years after the release of "Adana," the duduk player Vardan Hovannissian and saz player Emre Gurtekin are back with their second work, "Kalin. Kalin is the ancient name given by the Armenians to Erzurum, a city in northeastern Turkey, which, like Adana, was once the site of a genocide. It is also the birthplace of Vardan Sof. Sof's grandfather was one of only about 200 people who survived the massacre. This work is dedicated to the tragic city of Kalin, and features traditional songs from the area, compositions by Vardan & Emre, and lyrics by the 18th century Armenian poet Sayat Nova, who is also known for his film "The Color of Pomegranates".
